Dr. Tarkan Yetişyiğit

Prof. Dr. Tarkan Yetişyiğit is a Medical Oncologist with over 15 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience in cancer care. He currently serves as Consultant and Acting Head of the Department of Medical Oncology at the Bahrain Oncology Center, Royal Medical Services, where he also leads departmental accreditation initiatives with the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA). He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1997 and completed his Internal Medicine training at Trakya University in 2006, followed by specialization in Medical Oncology at Dr. Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Oncology Research and Training Hospital, Ankara. He later earned a PhD in Basic Oncology and Immunology (2023) from Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University.Dr. Yetişyiğit previously held senior academic positions at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Faculty of Medicine, where he served as Director of Medical Oncology, Vice Dean, and Faculty Accreditation Lead. His international experience also includes service at the German Armed Forces Field Hospital (KFOR). Prof. Yetişyiğit has authored and co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in international journals, covering topics such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer, sarcomas, testicular tumors, immuno-oncology, and supportive care. His recent contributions include studies on BRCA mutations, benign ethnic neutropenia in breast cancer, COVID-19 diagnostics in oncology, and immunotherapy outcomes. He has participated in multiple clinical trials and multicenter collaborative studies, contributing to advances in personalized oncology.
